I’m definitely planning on using a timeline, my research question aims to cover roughly two hundred years of change and so it’ll be a great visualization aid. In my research, I’ve also found that some locations have also had great influence for varying periods on the direction American English is headed.
I’ve been using Voyeant since it was first introduced and I find it very cool! I was successfully able to upload multiple of John Brockden Brown’s works and see any trends in the data. It turns out, some words are more important to certain works than others, I’m still playing with it and seeing how I can manipulate the data to get more coherent conclusions, but I also plan on trying to put novels published in the same year into Voyeant now and see what happens. The graphs and mindmaps it can create using the data is awesome.
